The Box Calculator computes the following for a box (aka parallelepiped): /attachments/1ae836f0-f145-11e9-8682-bc764e2038f2/BoxD.pngBox - Parallelepiped

Note 1:  The weight calculations ignore the weight of the box, since it should be relatively small to its content.  Furthermore, the composition of the box, whether is has double or folded layers, affect the weight of the box shell.
Note 2:  The input units for the dimensions of the box have a default of meters.  However, this can be easily changed for each or any dimension by clicking on the unit field for the input parameter where you can choose one of MANY different length units (nanometers to light-years!), and vCalc automatically makes the conversions for accurate computations.  In a similar vein, the outputs are in metric units too, and these can be automatically converted to other length, area, volume and weight/mass units via the pull-down menu next to the answer.

The Math / Science

A box is geometrically known as a parallelepiped.  This is a three dimensional shape with six flat sides and all square corners.  A cube is a special case of a box, where all of the lengths are the same.
